[abcde] abcde 1.1.2 released, and ramblings about future development
abcde 1.1.2 is out, it's a bugfix release - it now properly handles
empty responses from a cddb server (or a proxy server that's not currently
connected to the net, etc).
Meanwhile, I've been rewriting abcde to address bugs #42970, #50883, and
#66668. It will store all its tempfiles (unless WAVOUTPUTDIR differs from
OUTPUTDIR) in one directory, abcde.DISCID, where DISCID is that 8-digit hex
number that cd-discid computes.
This directory name directly correlates with a specific CD, therefore if the
directory already exists abcde will attempt to resume operation from it.
I've put the current version of the directory hierarchy scheme at
http://lly.org/~rcw/abcde/misc/temp-dir-spec. I may not implement all of it,
specifically, the logging may have to wait for later.
As soon as I have the latter half of it rewritten I'll release a snapshot of
the code as well.
I'll either call the new version 1.2 or 2.0, depending on how much I rewrite
(current diff is 690 lines, counting cddb-tool changes) and how many command
line/config file options I break or change (so far, none on purpose :).
Maybe after this I can worry about id3v2 and Ogg Vorbis support :)
