Unfortunately, Slackware doesn't come with mktemp. You'll have to compile
and install it yourself.

The upstream mktemp source is OpenBSD:

Or, you could use the development version of abcde, 1.9.x, which no longer
uses mktemp. http://lly.org/~rcw/abcde/development/
