[abcde] distmp3 and Xing VBR headers

Hi there,

Perhaps this is a known issue, but since I am not on this list, I'll
warn you anyways. :-)

When making VBR mp3s using distmp3, you will not get Xing VBR headers.
This is because Xing headers are written after the encoding, which is
impossible when the mp3 is a named pipe. (I'm using LAME.)

The problem you get is that players will not know the length of the MP3
before the whole file is played (and tools like mp3info screw up too).

Luckely there is a vbrfix tool, but it's Windows. I gave up trying to
port it (badly organized code), so I fixed 4 GB of broken files over a
Samba share. (I did write some scripts to locate broken files..)

I'm sorry if this is widely known.. I didn't see this mentioned in the
abcde and distmp3 documentation.

Cheers,

Richard van den Berg
