Don't know, but a bit about gapless encoding. It have to be supported BOTH by
encoder and player, but some player can deal with non-gapless encoded files, by
the following algorithm:
It cuts the end of the first file at an appropiate position (max. length can be
set e.g. in XMMS), and plays it as the beginning of the next file, mixed them
together.

So you are right, but not have the whole truth. If a CD has a click at track
bounds, it was not _mastered_ good. Have a look at the waveform (e.g. in
audacity) at the bounds: it will not be at zero height, but somewhere else. If
the track bound (and every track bound) is at zero level, you will not hear any
clicks -- but it is not too easy to find them. I have read about a win prog,
which can make the life easyer about this, but I did not even hear about any
Linux version. And (of course) you have to pay for it, which is really
disgusting in our world of abcde... :-)
