Much of linux programs (mc, abcde, cvs, and so on) honors setting the
EDITOR environment variable upon logging in, probably in ~/.bashrc or
~/.bash_profile or something like that by the line "export EDITOR=joe" or
vi or whetever you prefer. That's why it isn't documented anywhere related
to abcde, I think: most of us should have known it.
