An
obstruction positioned to block passage through a street, trail, or doorway.
Barricades could be formed using whatever heavy materials were close at hand
such as tipped over wagons, heavy casks, and sandbags, or they could be
constructed in the form of regular obstacles such as cheveaux-de-frise,
stockades, and palisadings. Barricades could also be arranged to include
a makeshift banquette for firing over the barricade or with loop-holes to
fire through the debris composing the barricade. |
