[abcde] Cut order variance?

I've run onot a serries of CD's today (Primarily BillBoard year
collections) that the record in FreeDB does not agree with the tracj order
as printed on the box/CD. Through paniful trial and error, I have found out
that the record in FreeDB is correct! However when I play the audio CD in
my streo it indeed plays in the jacket order!

Can anyone save my sanity by giving me a clue what's going on here?
